On 10th of April 2023, Verbattle - An intra college debate competition was held where we a multitude of students turning up to participate with great enthusiasm. The event was held in function and library seminar halls wherein four rounds of debate were held that witnessed a healthy competition between the participants. Cash prizes along with certificates were distributed to the winners and participation certificates were given to all the participants as a token of appreciation.
The list of topics were:
• This House believes there is too much violence in media.
• The mixed sex schools are better than unisex schools.
• We should stop eating meat.
• We should ban advertising which targets children.
• Democracy failed us.
• We should not force children to sing the national anthem in schools.
• Testing products for humans on animals is immoral.
• children should choose what they learn in school.
• This house would ban homework.
• all police officers should carry guns.
• teachers should wear a uniform.
• International adoption should be banned.
• Books should be realistic not fantastical.
• There has never been a better time to be a woman.
• Disney films provide bad role models for children.
• Children should not be allowed to wear religious symbols in schools.
• We should invest more in space exploration.
• Abortion should be banned.
• Alcohol should be made illegal.
• We should televise criminal trials.
• There's no point in studying Shakespeare in schools.
• Teachers should be paid according to their results.
• We should shut down zoos.
• Universal healthcare is a right.
